Cosas Bonitas

Marylin Rose Center | September 2024

Cosas Bonitas showcases the works of both local and national Latino/e/x artists. This exhibition explores diverse aesthetics and mediums, ultimately reflecting each artist's distinctive perspective and lived experience. Latino people in the United States are far from a monolithic group; we encompass a broad spectrum of cultural and racial backgrounds. With diverse skin tones, languages, belief systems, and forms of self-expression, we continually redefine and challenge perceptions of who we are and how we wish to be seen. Rather than attempting to define the Latino identity, this exhibition seeks to foster dialogue and explore the complexities of what it means to be Latino in the United States.

Exhibiting Artists: Adrian Gazcón, Alejandra Carrillo, Billy B. Rios Aguilar, Dayra Flores, Denise Hernandez, Edgar Garcia-Hernandez, Edgar Lopez, Hector Del Campo, Jazlyn Gomez, Jesus “Chuy” Sánchez Jr., Juan Gabriel Tiscareno, Leyda Melgar, Marylu E. Herrera, Oscar Toloza, Samuel Penaloza, Steffi Faircloth, and Tochtlita.
